Open Door Church Sites

Accessibility

Everyone should be able to find a church online, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers or captions.

Our goal

We aim for this website, and the church websites we build, to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we've done

  • Large, readable text and strong color contrast.
  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
  • Pages are built with proper headings and labels so screen readers can follow them.
  • Photos have text descriptions.
  • The opening door animation is skipped if you've asked your device to reduce motion.
  • Pages adjust to any screen size and still work when you zoom in.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email [email protected] and tell us the page and the problem. We'll reply and fix what we can as quickly as possible.
